Embrace change with courage and empathy
Though consulting comes into play in any client service relationship, it was my primary focus as a designer at Pivotal Labs. I facilitated workshops and in the daily course of working with the team, modeled techniques to develop the product design vision – with the goal of teaching clients new methods of working together. In particular, I focused on how to incorporate user research and design thinking into the product delivery cycle. Many companies come to Labs because they want to change their internal operations. Clients are drawn to the Pivotal grassroots approach of building Balanced Teams from the ground up and disseminating practices throughout the organization.
